Perth Police Officer recognised by Royal Humane Society
A Police Officer from Perth has been recognised twice by the Royal Humane Society for saving the lives of two men in separate incidents. PC Rory Miller was on patrol in Perth when he noticed an elderly man lying unresponsive in the street. He identified that the man was not breathing before carrying out CPR and applying an automated external defibrillator (AED). The man later made a full recovery in hospital. PC Miller was off-duty when he became aware of a man who had suffered a heart attack while swimming. He rescued the man from the water, applied an AED and carried out CPR. The man also made a full recovery. Presenting PC Miller with two certificates from the Royal Humane Society, Inspector Kris McCall said, “Rory’s actions during these two incidents are highly commendable and I am proud to be able to formally recognise them with these awards. Police officers do a lot more than fight crime and these life-saving interventions show the value that police officers bring to their communities .”
Blairgowrie Highland Games On Sunday 8th September, PC’s Tarbet and Blackhall from the Blairgowrie Community Policing Team attended the Blairgowrie Highland Games.
